前天靠周思齊「再見滿貫全壘打」擊退桃猿的中信兄弟，昨對統一獅之戰不再受幸運之神眷顧，於延長賽12局上因救援投手羅國華一記致命傳球失誤，終場以4比5落敗，中斷4連勝。
中信兄弟第2至5任投手王建勛、江忠誠、陳鴻文與官大元，第7至11局成功扮演牛棚角色，聯手無失分，且靠8局下攻下3分，追平4比4，可惜第6任投手羅國華，第12局一上場就被首打者林志祥敲出一壘打，處理下一棒唐肇廷犧牲觸擊時又暴傳一壘，讓林志祥連跑3個壘包。
獅隊兩位中繼投手林其緯與黃靖幃，8局上對4打席共送出3次保送，只被擊出1支安打失1分，且留下滿壘，迫使「終結者」華納此局提早上班打卡，惟仍被彭政閔與周思齊分別擊出內野滾地與高飛犧牲打，再失2分，兩隊戰成4比4平手，還好最後3任投手華納、高建三與賴泊凱守住最後防線沒再失分。
獅隊林志祥3局上敲出本季首轟2分炮，助球隊此局攻下3分，雖這轟未成勝利打點，但第12局安打製造得分機會，且回本壘得到致勝分，榮膺單場MVP。
獅隊先發江辰晏此役主投6.1局僅被擊出4支安打，於4局下被林威助的陽春炮攻下1分，本季累計與中信兄弟交手30局，責失只有5分，成了黃衫軍剋星。
